Speaker’s bio: http://www.isirv.org/site/index.php/board-members?id=67 Short Summary: The 2009 pandemic, and the subsequent influenza activity and its impact in the UK population, highlighted opportunities to strengthen surveillance, prevention and control. The recent novel coronavirus incident highlighted the continuing need for vigilance, preparedness and effective response to other respiratory virus threats. This talk will outline the current key issues and the work of the UK Health Protection Agency (soon to be 'Public Health England') to address them.
