Message from Roberto Bruzzone and Malik Peiris

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Institut Pasteur International Network will be held on 22nd to 23rd November 2010 at the Cheung Kung Hai Lecture Theatre 4, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. The Symposium this year will also mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of HKU-Pasteur Research Centre. This annual meeting is the most important scientific event of the Pasteur Network and is open to all the scientific community.

With an aim to foster research collaboration and the development of multi-disciplinary programs, we have planned a 2-day conference, which will start with a Keynote lecture by Professor Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, Nobel Laureat in 2008 for the discovery of HIV. The full program can be viewed at http://www.pasteur-network-meeting.org/.

The three thematic sessions will address current research in the areas of:

  1. Vaccine Preventable Diseases

  2. Neglected Diseases

  3. Networking to Improve Health

The final session has been organized in conjunction with the Centre for the Humanities and Medicine of HKU on the 'Nature of Altruism'.

The participation of all Faculty members is essential to the success of this conference. Registration is free but we urge colleagues to register online http://pasteur-network-meeting.org/Registration/ as soon as possible.
