Scientists from the Asian institutes of the Pasteur Network, the Merieux Foundation, and other partner institutions in the region, gathered in Kunming (May 28-29) to discuss options to improve preparedness and readiness in the control outbreaks of infectious diseases in the Lancang-Meking region.
The meeting was part of the efforts of the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai-Chinese Academy of Sciences to work together with the Yunnan Institute of Parasitic Diseases and other local institutions to forge stronger research capabilities to mitigate the impact of infectious diseases across the region. Roberto Bruzzone and Chris Mok represented HKU-Pasteur and discussed the ongoing collaborations in Southern China on influenza research and opportunities available through international courses.
