Mr Peter CHEUNG has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Hong Kong for his work entitled "Experimental Analysis of the Mutation Rate of Influenza A Viruses" on October 19, 2012. The PhD examining board congratulated him for his nice presentation and outstanding achievements.
Peter joined the Centre and started his PhD project on influenza virus in September 2009 in the Molecular Virology team. He performed his PhD research work at the Centre, under the supervision of Dr Hui-Ling YEN and Professor Malik PEIRIS. He also attended the 6th HKU-Pasteur Virology Course in 2009 and was awarded a Certificate of Merit for the best poster presentation in “Infection & Immunology” theme during the 15th RPS in 2010 and the Butterfield-Croucher Studentship in 2011. Peter has published two scientific articles (Wong et al. 2012 and Yen et al. 2011).
