Institut Pasteur in Ho Chi Minh City celebrated its 120th anniversary

First Institut Pasteur established after Paris in 1891 by Albert Calmette (in Saigon, now Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), the Institut Pasteur in Ho Chi Minh City celebrated its 120th anniversary on November 18, 2011 in the presence of Madame TIEN, Minister of Health, and representatives of many French and international scientific institutions. The Institut Pasteur in Ho Chi Minh City is an active member of the Institut Pasteur International Network.


The Institut Pasteur in Ho Chi Minh City inaugurated on this occasion its Museum, its Training Center and its new Library.


The Scientific Meeting associated with the ceremony was dedicated to emerging diseases, confirming the role of the Institut Pasteur in Ho Chi Minh City in surveillance and research on infectious diseases in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Dr Roberto BRUZZONE, CEO of HKU-Pasteur Research Centre, gave a lecture on Dengue virus.
