“Host jump: Flu, MERS-CoV, Ebola and Zika” by Professor George Fu Gao (26 May 2016)

The City University of Hong Kong will host a Distinguished Lecture by Prof. George Fu Gao on Thursday 26 May 2016. His lecture is entitled "Host jump: Flu, MERS-CoV, Ebola and Zika".


Prof. George Fu Gao is Director of CAS Key Laboratory of Pathogenic Microbiology and Immunology, Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Vice-President of Beijing Institute of Life Science, Chinese Academy of Science and Deputy Director-General of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.


His research focuses on mechanisms of interspecies transmission ("host jump") and molecular immune recognition of pathogens (e.g. HIV, Influenza viruses, MERS and Ebola). He will be one of the lecturer of our 13th HKU-Pasteur Virology Course (10-22 July 2016).
