6-17 November 2017 in Hong Kong: hands-on course on NGS data analysis

Closed. Thank you for the numerous applications! Selection results will be announced after September 15th, 2017. Stay tuned.

HKU-Pasteur Research Pole, the Center of Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and Integrative Biology (C3BI) at the Institut Pasteur in Paris and the Centre for Genomic Sciences at the University of Hong Kong organize a brand new course in Hong Kong.

Given the vast and continusously increasing reams of data that biological research is producing, it is essential that biologists possess basic knowledge of statistics and computing to be able to decipher this quantitative information.

This hands-on course will focus on Next Generation Sequencing datasets (NGS).

• Introduction to Linux/R • Experimental design • Assembly and mapping • SNP and variant calling • Differential analysis in NGS • Disease association analysis

Held at HKU from 6 to 17 November 2017 (week 1: theory and practical examples for a broad audience, week 2: practical analysis and hands-on for a selected group of participants), this course is the right place to be to benefit from the expertise of trainers from both the Institut Pasteur network and HKU, and to learn how to exploit your research data at best!

Fees: 1,000.00 HKD for the first week - 2,000.00 HKD for the whole course (free for participants from the Institut Pasteur International Network)
