The article entitled "Formation of virus-like particles from human cell lines exclusively expressing Influenza neuraminidase" by Lai J.C. et al. has been published in Journal of General Virology. In this article, minimal viral requirements for the generation of influenza virus like particle (VLP) assembly and budding was investigated and VLPs release was observed in cell lines exclusively expressing the viral neuraminidase. This research work was conducted by Jimmy Lai and Wallace Chan, two young posgraduated students at the Centre who started their PhD and MPhil respectively.
