The main aim of this course is to present a complete overview on recent advances in immunology, vaccine, vector biology, and drug discovery/therapy against leishmaniasis.The proposed course objectives will cover 6 different modules:


Module 1: Immunological aspects of experimental leishmaniasis (mouse model) Cutaneous leishmaniasis Visceral leishmaniasis Module 2: Immunological and clinical aspects of Leishmaniasis in humans Cutaneous leishmaniasis Visceral leishmaniasis Module 3: New advances in vaccine development Dissecting different approaches for vaccine development against Leishmania Use of adjuvants in the development of new vaccines against Leishmania Module 4: Treatment and recent approaches for drug discovery for Leishmaniasis Recent treatment of cutaneous and visceral leishmaniasis Discovery of novel inhibitors against Leishmania infection and their efficacy using in vivo and in vitro models.
