End of the Next Generation Sequencing data analysis (NGS) course

Our brand new course took place during two whole weeks from 6th to 17th of November.

The hands-on course on Next Generation Sequencing data analysis (NGS) was jointly organized by the Center of Bioinformatics, Biostatics and Integrative Biology (C3BI) at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, HKU-Pasteur and the Centre for Genomic Sciences at the University of Hong Kong.

The participants were provided with basic knowledge of statistics and computing in order to decipher the quantitive information given the vast and continuously increasing reams of data that biological research is producing. A full experience for the students who could focus on NGS with introduction to experimental design, assembly and mapping, SNP and variant calling, differential analysis in NGS or disease association analysis.

Once again the course was a success, many thanks to all the participants, the C3BI team and the Centre for Genomic Sciences, the HKU-Pasteur team really wishes to see you soon!

Stay tuned on the HKU-Pasteur website and on our Facebook page for the next courses.
