13th HKU-Pasteur Virology Course: end of another memorable course

From July 10th to 22nd, HKU-Pasteur Research Pole was organizing the 13th edition of the HKU-Pasteur Virology Course.

After each of its international courses, HKU-Pasteur Research Pole teaching team keeps being comforted in its long-term commitment to education. These 2-week courses bring together young scientists from diverse backgrounds, diverse cultures and a stellar faculty of renowned researchers enthusiastic about sharing their scientific knowledge. Heterogeneity is one of the key component to the success of our courses as it promotes exchanges and cooperation.

From the participants "goodbye slides" at the end of the course

This Virology Course has been in the direct line of this success. We were proud to host the "Bats and Viruses" class, a strongly motivated scientific and geographical melting-pot that really took full advantage of the course to create an intense and fruitful group dynamics.

We would like to thank the speakers for their generous commitment, the sponsors (the Institut Pasteur International Network, the University of Hong kong, the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau), and of course the 27 participants (23 nationalities!), with a special mention to Marina Escalera Zamudio (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany), Miruna Rosu (Erasmus Medical Center, The Netherlands), Stefania Leopardi (Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, Italy) and Marcel Bokelmann (Robert Koch Institute, Germany) for their remarkable involvement.

"I wanted to send you a big THANK YOU for all your support and for two wonderful and inspiring weeks", Marcel

"It was a great, enriching experience and I would repeat it again if I could. It was above my expectations, with great speakers and an amazing scientific environment!", Miruna
