Second week of the 8th HKU-Pasteur Immunonolgy Course

Today, the 22 students attending the 8th HKU-Pasteur Immunology Course have started the second week of the course.

This morning, the first lecture was given by Antonio Bertoletti from Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences A*STAR, Vice-President of the Singapore Society of Immunology. Antonio Bertoletti's lecture explored the T cell immunity during HBV-HCV infection.

Wenwei Tu, professor at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, then gave a lecture about the antiviral and antitumor activity of human gamma delta T cells.

The students will conclude the day with their 5th workshop session, where they collectively work on designing a new dengue vaccine candidate and a new HIV vaccine candidate.

The 8th HKU-Pasteur Immunology Course has begun on November 22, 2015

Since Sunday, November 22, 2015, 22 strongly motivated students have joined the 8th HKU-Pasteur Immunology Course. We are glad to welcome them!

The main topic of this 8th HKU-Pasteur course is the Immunological memory.

During the 2 weeks they are going to stay with us, they will attend lectures from world-class experts and a practical workshop creating a context of vaccine design.
