    To provide a broad basis of the practical knowledge for design, implementation, and reporting clinical research of infectious disease in a local setting.  Primary focus will be on the logistics of collection, storage and analysis of high quality data to address relevant and well-framed research questions to support surveillance, epidemiological research and outbreak investigation throughout the South East Asia/Mekong region.


    Health personnel from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, the Philippines, PR China, Vietnam and other countries in South East Asia involved in surveillance activities and outbreak investigation. The workshop is particularly aimed at those in the health sector wishing to keep pace with the new approaches developed in public health surveillance and operational research. The sessions will be delivered in English. Trainees should have a clear understanding of spoken and written English. Limited to 24 participants.


    A course committee comprising members of the teaching team and of the organizers will be set-up for the selection of the participants.
