Tot binnenkort Tami!

After five years at HKU-Pasteur, Tami Zhang is leaving Hong Kong for the Netherlands to join an inspiring new lab.

Earlier this year, she joined Artemis One Health, in Delft, as a postdoctoral research fellow, involved in an Horizon 2020 project named Investigating Mechanisms and Models Predictive of Accessibility of Therapeutics (IM2PACT) Into The Brain

IM2PACT aims to further the understanding of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in health and disease states towards the development of innovative brain delivery systems, especially for biopharmaceuticals, such as peptides and antibodies, and the identification of novel disease drug targets for the treatment of the Alzheimer disease, Multiple Sclerosis and metabolic diseases. This project is sponsored by the European union (EU) and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Association (EFPIA), within the context of the European framework for research and innovation. It involves the cooperation among 28 different partners belonging to 15 different European countries.

Tami’s task in Artemis One Health will be to elucidate molecular mechanism that regulates neurotropic flavivirus transport at the BBB.

We are all very excited for this new adventure, and very proud of her achievements during all those years together in HKU-Pasteur.

See you soon Tami, you are always welcome here!

Tot binnenkort!
